HOW TO USE B-ROLL ON LIVESTREAMS
Want to use pre-recorded video on your livestream? Here’s a quick, easy way to create a new dimension to your livestream video through b-roll!
B-roll is pre-filmed video that you add to the media section of your livestreaming platform to show on screen while speaking. You must have all files prepared before you go on air in order to use them.
It’s best practices to remove the audio as you should be speaking over a video being used as b-roll (keep in mind b-roll is different than just showing a video and is meant to be supplemental to the conversation)
Always practice with your b-roll footage before you go on air to ensure you know how to work the buttons. Toggle on full screen when showing b-roll footage.
The media section allows you to upload several pieces of content from your computer, from YouTube, or from Facebook. these files then wait in your studio to be added to the on-air screen.
Once you know when you’ll be using the clips, ensure your screen is on full screen, add them to your on-air section, and then toggle the b-roll screen to full screen while leaving your microphone on to speak over it.
